BEIJING\/HONG KONG\/TAIPEI\/SINGAPORE: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific\u2019s Fang Chang has been appointed to an expanded role as senior VP and general manager for the Greater China region, adding Taiwan and Hong Kong to his remit.<\/p>\n

Responsibility for Taiwan and Hong Kong has been added to Chang\u2019s existing role as senior VP and general manager of China. Chang, who joined the company in 2002, will be responsible for setting the growth strategy and charting new business opportunities for the Greater China region. He will continue to be based in Beijing and report to Arthur Bastings, the president and managing director of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Gina Hung, who has occupied an interim leadership role for Taiwan and Hong Kong, will move to a newly created post as VP of corporate communications and business development for Greater China. She will report to Chang and work closely with him to maximize growth in both traditional and new media sectors, and lead corporate communications activities for the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cFang\u2019s appointment underscores Discovery\u2019s commitment to the Greater China markets,\u201d said Bastings. \u201cHe is a seasoned professional, with a wealth of experience in China coupled with strong Taiwanese roots.
