The channel will also air original local productions based on <em>Extreme Homes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDerek Chang, managing director of Scripps Networks Interactive for Asia Pacific, noted, &ldquo;Scripps Networks is very excited to launch HGTV in Singapore and we look forward to entertaining StarHub viewers with fresh ideas and authentic stories. Home is something that is near and dear to our hearts and HGTV will be there for our viewers&mdash;whether they are looking for ideas to transform their living spaces, to take a sneak peek into their dream homes or simply be entertained and uplifted by the emotional journeys of our HGTV personalities. I am also thrilled to be able to bring our brightest HGTV stars to Asia soon and giving StarHub viewers a hands-on HGTV experience.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLee Soo Hui, head of the media business unit at StarHub, added, &ldquo;We have had the pleasure of providing our customers with all of Scripps Networks&rsquo; lifestyle channels in Asia, from Asian Food Channel to Food Network to Travel Channel and now HGTV. We are now thrilled that StarHub TV customers will not only be the first in Asia, but the first outside of North America to enjoy HGTV&rsquo;s range of quality content. As Singapore has one of the highest home ownership rates in the world, we are confident that customers will identify with the channel&rsquo;s home-focused programming. In addition to delivering the channel in high definition, we will work closely with Scripps to bring customers closer to their favourite HGTV personalities in the near future.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere will be a free preview of HGTV Asia through June 2015.
