It found that advertising revenues for OTT platforms will hit $4.6 billion in 2020, with China contributing $1.96 billion and Japan $1.2 billion. This is up from $1.7 billion this year. Subscription revenues are expected to rise from $1.3 billion this year to $3.5 billion in 2020. Japan will dominate the SVOD sector, generating revenues of $2 billion, some 55 percent of the total. Download-to-own revenues are projected to soar from $388 million this year to $1.3 billion in 2020.
