BEIJING: MGM Television is making its new theatrical releases available on a Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) basis in China through Jiaflix Enterprises, while more than 200 classic library films will be delivered for SVOD. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jiaflix\/M1905 is an Internet-delivered programming service operated in partnership with M1905.com, the official Internet subsidiary of China Movie Channel\/CCTV6. Under the agreement, new MGM titles such as the upcoming RoboCop <\/em>and Hercules <\/em>will become available on the Jiaflix\/M1905.com website starting in 2014 through TVOD. Around 200 classic films, among them Midnight Cowboy<\/em>, Dressed to Kill <\/em>and The <\/em>Thomas Crown Affair<\/em>, will be available to Jiaflix subscribers via SVOD. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to partner with Jiaflix\/M1905, broadening the content offered to their subscribers,” said Chris Ottinger, the president  of international distribution and acquisitions for MGM Television. “MGM’s films appeal to a global audience and we look forward to bringing viewers in China MGM’s stellar new releases and extensive library of beloved theatrical films.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sid Ganis, a principal at Jiaflix, said, “This exciting new agreement with MGM is a major step in furthering Jiaflix’s plan to provide the best selection of Chinese and international films to its subscribers in China.” <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Longfei Liang, <\/span><\/span>M1905’s director and VP, added, “Our website becomes even more attractive to movie fans with the addition of these important MGM titles. Our audience continues to grow as we present great Chinese and western films.”
