VIMN Appoints Former BBC Worldwide Exec

SINGAPORE: Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has tapped Amit Arora for the newly created role of VP of strategy and business development for Asia.

In his new post, Arora will serve on the Asia leadership team and will be responsible for driving cross-business growth strategy and business development opportunities in Asia to help inform the company’s decision-making. He will be based in Singapore but will work closely with the global strategy team in New York. Arora will report to Mark Whitehead, the executive VP and managing director for Asia. The appointment is effective immediately.

Arora has 15 years of experience in the media, telecom, cable and technology industries, including business development, analytics and strategic advisory roles in organizations such as ABC Television/The Walt Disney Company, Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner Cable in the U.S. Most recently, Arora served as the head of business development and strategy for Asia at BBC Worldwide in Singapore.
