Ten Ousts Chief Executive

SYDNEY: Australian broadcaster Ten Network has terminated the contract of its chief executive, Grant Blackley, with Lachlan Murdoch tapped to fill the role until a successor is found.

Ten Chairman Brian Long said in announcing the change at the top of the company: “The Board continues to be responsible for all decisions regarding the strategic direction of the company, and has decided to conduct an immediate strategic review of the company’s operations. I would like to thank Grant Blackley for his contribution to the company over some 20 years. The board would also like to thank Lachlan Murdoch for agreeing to accept an interim role at the Board’s request.”

The management reshuffle comes as Ten warned that its full year EBITDA would be down to A$103 million this year from A$117 million, with television EBITDA falling from A$109 million to A$92 million.
