SPTI Scores German EST Agreement for Movies

LONDON/MUNICH/BONN, May
20: Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has
struck an agreement to make newly released and selected library Sony Pictures
titles available for purchase via Videoload, a VOD and electronic-sell-through
(EST) service from Germany’s Deutsche Telekom.

A number of recent hits
are already available via www.videoload.de, including
The Da Vinci Code, starring Tom
Hanks and Audrey Tautou, and the comedy Superbad, which stars
Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. The lineup of available titles from Sony Pictures
will be expanded gradually over the coming months.

Stuart Baxter,
the executive VP of European distribution at SPTI, said: “Videoload has
clearly demonstrated its strong track record and expertise in the effective
delivery of online content. It has become a key player in meeting consumers’
needs to both rent and purchase movie entertainment digitally. We are very
pleased to further strengthen our existing relationship with Deutsche Telekom.”
