Record TV Network Unveils Plans for Winter Olympics Coverage

SÃO PAULO: At a press conference in São Paulo, Brazilian broadcaster Record TV Network showcased plans for its extensive coverage of the upcoming Winter Olympic Games from Vancouver.

On hand at the event were Douglas Tavolaro, the VP of news at Record TV Network; Georgios Theodorakopoulos, the chief of sports and news editorial; Sergio Hilinsky, the coordinator of sports; and Márcio de Castro, the coordinator for the Olympics at Record. Also present were several presenters and commentators who will be heading to Vancouver to lead Record’s coverage, including Paulo Henrique Amorim and Álvaro José. Commentator Oscar Schmidt and reporter Andre Tal are already on site producing news reports for Record.

The coverage kicks off ahead of the games, on February 8, with Ana Paula Padrão leading a Jornal da Record broadcast from Vancouver. The games officially begin February 12 with the Opening Ceremony. Record TV Network is planning four hours of coverage a day from the Winter Olympics, with 12 hours slated to air on Record News.
