IFTA to Spotlight Monetizing Indie Films

LOS ANGELES: The Independent Film & Television Alliance is hosting its 12th annual IFTA Production Conference on December 3, with a special focus on "Monetizing Independent Film in the Digital Marketplace."

Dave Habiger, the president and CEO of Sonic Solutions, will present the keynote address. Sonic Solutions is dedicated to the development of the "digital ecosystem" that brings access to digital media across a variety of platforms and devices.

Amy Friedlander Hoffman, the president of Priority Digital Media, will present “Video On Demand Today: The Platforms, Viewers and Demand for Content,” providing an overview of today’s major platforms and players in the U.S. VOD marketplace. Pierre David, the chairman and CEO of Imagination Worldwide, and Bruce Eisen, the VP of online content development and strategy at DISH Network, will moderate the morning panel titled “Monetizing Independent Film in the Digital Marketplace.” The panelists include Jeff Cuban, the executive VP of HDNet/Magnolia; Alex Fragen, the president of domestic television distribution at Summit Entertainment; Barry Gordon, the CEO and co-founder of XLrator Media; Diana Keredes, the VP of entertainment service, media and entertainment, Comcast (pending); and Daniel York, the president of content at AT&T.
