FremantleMedia Unveils New Comedy Web Portal

LONDON, August 6: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) will
launch TVComedyClassics.com, a new web portal that will make a selection of
comedy programming from its archives available to consumers for download to own
or rent.

Launching this month, TVComedyClassics is powered by Vizumi,
the movie downloading service of Arts Alliance Media. The new website will
initially offer up titles such as Tommy Cooper Half Hour, The Howerd Confessions, George and Mildred, Love Thy Neighbour and Bless This House, among others, with new content being added
regularly. The website will host comedy selections from FME’s archives from
across the decades, featuring performers like Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd,
Eric Sykes, Sid James, Penelope Keith and Jim Davidson. The company is
currently exploring content opportunities with other independent production companies
and is looking to extend the TVComedyClassics brand locally around the world.

FME will carry the TVComedyClassics brand on relevant
upcoming DVD releases, including five titles that FME will be launching at
retail this fall. The TVComedyClassics.com website will also be cross promoted
in each DVD and accompanying public relations and advertising campaigns.

FME’s Pete Kalhan, the senior VP of home entertainment and
archive sales, commented: “TVComedyClassics.com is a brand new distribution
channel for FME and a great way for us to interact directly with our consumers
by delivering to them the content they want, when and where they want it. We
very much see TVComedyClassics.com as just the first in many program genre
portal websites we will be developing and we’re certain it will be a big hit
with comedy fans. With the launch of this website, we’re truly taking home
entertainment into the home.”
