Family Channel & Playhouse Disney Canada Renew Two

BANFF: Family Channel and Playhouse Disney Canada have commissioned further episodes of two Canadian original productions, the live-action comedy Wingin’ It and the animated series Stella and Sam.

Family Channel has ordered a second season of Wingin’ It from Temple Street Productions. The 13×30-minute series follows a 16-year-old angel in training. In order to get his angel’s wings, he must transform a down-on-his-luck 15-year-old boy into the most popular student at his high school. Episodes from the first season are currently airing on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:50 p.m. on Family Channel.

Playhouse Disney Canada has commissioned Radical Sheep Productions to produce fresh episodes of Stella and Sam, for both the English- and French-language network and the new launched Playhouse Disney Télé. Stella and Sam follows the relationship between an inquisitive but shy 4-year-old Sam and his outgoing big sister Stella. The 13×11-minute animated series is slated to premiere this fall.

Family Channel and Playhouse Disney are both members of the Astral family.
