Cineflix Secures New Latin American Deals

LONDON, January 21: Just a week before NATPE begins,
Cineflix International has announced a series of deals for its formats and
factual series with buyers throughout Latin America.

In Mexico, Canal 11 picked up the 26×30-minute series Birth
Days
. Each episode focuses on a family who
is welcoming a new baby into their home, featuring the emotional, medical,
economic and social aspects of parenting and the post-partum experience.

Over in Portugal, state broadcaster RTP acquired the
90-minute special Crash of the Century.
The full-length docudrama focuses on the 1977 Tenerife collision that killed
more than 500 people and the investigation that followed.

Furthermore, Cineflix scored a pan-Latin American deal with
Turner Broadcasting System for the series Final 24 and Urban Legends. The documentary series Final 24 centers on the hidden secrets and bizarre events that
lead to the tragic deaths of six global icons by examining the final 24 hours
of the famous person’s life. The multiplatform offering Urban Legends
involves three stories, only one of which
is actually true, and viewers are challenged to determine fact from fiction.

Sandra Piha, Cineflix International’s sales manager for the
region, said: “Latin America continues
to have a growing appetite for quality factual entertainment and formats.
Cineflix International’s business is consistently increasing in the region
clearly pointing to the sheer quality of our catalogue and the strong ratings
they generate.”
