Channel 4 International Takes On Logo Animation

LONDON, November 8: Channel 4 International (C4i) has
acquired the international rights, outside of North America, to the animated
series Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In The World.

The 6×22-minute series originally launched this summer on
MTV Networks’ digital channel Logo, and first became available to buyers by C4i
at MIPCOM.

A co-production between Cuppa Coffee Productions, Posh
Pictures and Logo, Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In The World follows a happy-go-lucky gay couple living in West
Lahunga Beach whose lives get shaken up when Rick’s lesbian friend, whose wife
is Steve’s mortal enemy, asks him to be the father of her child.

The show is executive produced by Lance W. Reynolds and Q.
Allan Brocka, who is also the show’s creator, writer and director. Adam Shaheen
serves as executive producer for Cuppa Coffee Studios.

"We tracked this series even in its earliest
incarnation as an Internet phenomenon," said Christina Willoughby, the
head of sales and co-production at C4i. "When we were approached by Logo
about international distribution we jumped at the opportunity. It is genuinely
one of the most original and funny animation shows we have seen. This is C4i's
first deal with MTV Networks and the first of several representation deals we
hope to tie up in the future."
