AETN Scores European Output Deals

NEW YORK: Following a successful MIPTV that included the launch of After Armageddon and America: The Story of the US, AETN International has signed a range of deals with broadcasters across Europe.

“We brought over 400 new hours of programs to MIPTV, our biggest slate ever, and we are pleased about the reception of the catalogue from broadcasters," said Jonathan South, senior director of international content sales for EMEA. "Our vast content offering allows us to meet the diverse needs of our clients, and we are particularly encouraged by the multiple output deals we signed at the market."

Output agreements were signed Odyssee in France, TV4 Fakta in Sweden, z1TV in the Czech Republic and TV4 in Poland, among others. In addition, in France, Planete went for The Works and Human Weapon; Syfy took Nostradamus 2012, Mediums, We See Dead People and The Real Wolfman; Zed took Alien Abduction; Ushuaia acquired season two of How the Earth Was Made, Direct 8 licensed Mega Movers and Histoire scored WWII Lost Films.

In Germany, meanwhile, RTL2 acquired SWAT and Steven Seagal Lawman, while Studio Hamburg snapped up Johnny Cash’s America and Phoenix picked up The First Christians.

A package of Biography episodes went to Sweden’s Kanal 5 and Italy’s Sky1, the paranormal investigation series Paranormal State was picked by Tv4 Plus, and season eight of The First 48 is set to air on Belgium’s Vitaya. TV Catalunya has licensed Kennedy 24 Hours Later in Spain. Psychic Kids is due to air on SBS in the Netherlands.
