Vongo to Provide Content to Toshiba’s New Portable Media Player

LOS ANGELES, June 20:
Starz Entertainment Group has entered into a deal to provide content from
Vongo, its online video download service, to Toshiba’s new gigabeat portable
media devices.

Vongo, launched at this
year’s Consumer Electronics Show, is a subscription-based service that allows
users to download major Hollywood movies to their PCs, laptops, portable media
players and televisions. The service will become a major content provider for
Toshiba’s new gigabeat, the Portable Media Center-based player.

"The partnership with
Toshiba and its new line of gigabeat PMC devices provides further evidence of
how Vongo is revolutionizing portable content and driving portability in this
emerging digital entertainment space,” said Bob Greene, Starz Entertainment
Group’s executive VP of advanced services. “Consumers have said they want
movies, music and photos all in one place and available to take with them
wherever they go—now they can."

Vongo provides users with
over 1,600 movie titles, and a live stream of the Starz network. Among the
titles provided by the service are Sin City, The Aviator, The Incredibles and The
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
