CANNES: Vice is gearing up to bring its TV, digital and mobile services to more than 50 additional markets as it steps up its global expansion plans.

“Earlier this year it was widely reported that I announced that we would launch Viceland in 12 countries in 12 months and that is not true,” Shane Smith, Vice’s co-founder and CEO, is quoted as saying at Cannes Lions today. “We will in fact be launching in 44 countries—for those keeping score that’s less than four months in—making Viceland the fastest growing television network in history.”

Partners for Vice’s international rollout include Moby Group for the Middle East, Multi-Channels Asia for Southeast Asia, Times of India for India, Econet Media for Africa, SBS for Australia and Sky for New Zealand.
