ATLANTA: Turner’s truTV has given the go-ahead to I’m Sorry, a new scripted comedy series created by and starring Andrea Savage (Veep, Episodes).

I’m Sorry will center on a seemingly confident comedy writer, wife and mother who exposes her inner immaturity and neuroses through unexpected life situations. Appearing alongside Savage in the 10×30-minute first season will be Tom Everett Scott (Southland) and newcomer Olive Petrucci. The show, which marks truTV’s third scripted comedy, is slated to begin airing next year.

I’m Sorry is produced by Kablamo! and Gloria Sanchez Productions. Savage, Jessica Elbaum, Jason Zaro, Billy Rosenberg, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer are serving as executive producers.

“Andrea draws storytelling inspiration from her own life and has a unique ability to make horrifying moments somehow charming and hilarious,” said Marissa Ronca, the executive VP and head of programming for truTV. “We love this project and her point of view because it’s smart, nuanced, relatable and, most importantly, funny—and the perfect fit for the type of distinct, creator-driven comedy we’re curating at truTV.”

“I am thrilled to apologize in advance to my family, my friends and to myself for the shame I will be bringing upon us all,” added Savage.
