Sonar Entertainment has entered into a first-look deal with Michael Shamberg’s MAS Production covering content for TV and digital platforms.

Shamberg’s credits include producing Erin Brockovich and The Big Chill. Additional film credits include the science-based movies Contagion and Gattaca. Shamberg was an executive producer on Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained. His true-story films include World Trade Center and Man on the Moon. He was an executive producer on the TV comedy Reno 911 and is an EP on the AMC series Into the Badlands.

Projects in development as part of this new agreement are adaptations of two best-selling books: Am I There Yet?: The Loop-de-loop, Zigzagging Journey to Adulthood by Mari Andrew and A Crack in Creation: Gene Editing and the Unthinkable Power to Control Evolution by Jennifer Doudna and Samuel H. Sternberg.

“Michael’s eye for culturally significant, highly entertaining content is remarkable,” said Thomas Lesinski, CEO of Sonar Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be in business with him and look forward to the results of the partnership.”

“Sonar is a terrific home to make innovative television that will stand out in a medium where viewers have so many choices,” commented Shamberg.
