Smithsonian Channel Reveals 2019 Originals Lineup

Smithsonian Channel has four new original series in development for broadcast during the first half of next year, including Apollo’s Moon Shot.

Apollo’s Moon Shot will explore the journey from the U.S.’s first manned orbit to the last man on the moon. The six-part show is produced by Smithsonian Channel. It is slated to air in the second quarter of 2019.

American’s Hidden Stories will examine iconic episodes in history as crime scenes or “cold cases.” The series is made by Lone Wolf Media for Smithsonian Networks. It will debut next year during Q1.

Disasters at Sea, premiering in the first quarter of 2019, looks at how women and men have died at sea over the past half century. It is made by Exploration Production in association with Smithsonian and Discovery Channel Canada.

Inside Mighty Machines, set for Q2 2019, spotlights some of the world’s greatest machines. The six-parter is made by 360 Production for Smithsonian Networks.
