LOS ANGELES: Radiant Films International is to make its debut at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin with the film Lullaby and Tom Shadyac’s doc I Am.

Radiant, founded by Mimi Steinbauer, the company’s president and CEO, is funded through private equity sources and is set to acquire and distribute between six and eight theatrical titles per year. Steinbauer will present a slate of new films at EFM, including Lullaby, written and directed by fine artist Andrew Levitas. The drama, which centers on reconnections between loved ones, begins principal photography in the spring. It is produced by Andrea Stone-Brokaw and Cary Brokaw (Closer, The Player, Shortcuts, Angels In America).

Also to be highlighted at EFM is director Tom Shadyac’s (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Nutty Professor, Liar Liar, Patch Adams) documentary feature film I Am. The doc is the result of a life-changing biking accident Shadyac endured in 2007, leading him to re-evaluate his Hollywood lifestyle. I Am features interviews with several legendary philosophical thinkers and academics such as David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Steinbauer said, “Choosing exceptional product for the marketplace and working closely with my filmmakers is a prime motivator to launching Radiant. The international buyers are looking for the right product and meaningful support to release the films and we are well placed to do that. These are exciting times.”
