New Chief Content Officer for DIRECTV

EL SEGUNDO: With its current content chief, Derek Chang, leaving at the end of the year, DIRECTV has tapped former AT&T executive Dan York to join the platform this summer as executive VP of programming and chief content officer.

As executive VP of content strategy and development for the last six years, Chang has overseen programming acquisition, original content, regional sports networks and ad sales at the DTH giant.

York, formerly president of content and ad sales at AT&T, joins DIRECTV this July and will initially oversee programming and content rights. As Chang transitions out of his post towards the end of the year, York will take over the content and ROOT Sports teams responsibilities.
