MIAMI: As Miramax looks to expand its global reach, the company is representing its first Asian series, Crow’s Blood.

The six-part Japanese horror/drama title is executive produced by Darren Lynn Bousman of the Saw film franchise and stars two members of the J-pop group AKB48. Miramax recently unveiled I, Tonya, starring Margot Robbie as controversial figure skater Tonya Harding, along with the Johnny Depp film Labyrinth and the documentary feature Whitney. Also new from the company are Bridget Jones’s Baby and Southside with You.

“We’re excited to continue growing our pipeline of high-quality new projects to complement our acclaimed library and the libraries we represent, including Revolution Studios, Goldwyn and Woodfall Films,” says Joe Patrick, Miramax’s executive VP of worldwide TV sales and home entertainment. “From our new film and TV projects to our own library and the libraries we represent, we have titles that are appealing to a wide range of demographics.”
