Homeland, Community Score Critics’ Choice Wins

LOS ANGELES: Homeland took the win as best drama series at the second annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards last night, while Community received the honors in the comedy category.

NBC was the most awarded network, with five wins. ABC and AMC tied with three wins each.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations was recognized as best reality series, while The Voice won for reality-show competition. Sherlock was named best movie/mini-series and Archer was the best animated series.

For performance wins, Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston was named best actor in a drama. Louis C.K. won for his comedic performance in the show Louie. Claire Danes took the female drama win for Homeland and Zooey Deschanel and Amy Poehler shared the comedy award for New Girl and Parks and Recreation, respectively. Supporting drama nods went to Mad Men‘s Christina Hendricks and Breaking Bad‘s Giancarlo Esposito. For comedy, supporting nods went to Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell for Modern Family.

The best reality host award was shared by Dancing with the Stars‘ Tom Bergeron and Cat Deeley of So You Think You Can Dance. Benedict Cumberbatch was recognized for his work in Sherlock as best actor in a movie/mini. Julianne Moore took the best actress win in the category for her role in Game Change.

The night also featured a category for most exciting new series, which honored The Following, The Mindy Project, Nashville, The Newsroom and Political Animals.
