Freeform has added three series regulars to the cast of grown-ish, the spin-off of the ABC comedy black-ish that was previously called college-ish.

Emily Arlook (The Good Place), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live) and Trevor Jackson (Burning Sands) join stars Yara Shahidi and Deon Cole in the ABC Signature Studios production. The 13-episode single-camera comedy, created by Kenya Barris, follows Zoey Johnson as she begins her new life in college. It is slated to begin production next month for broadcast on Freeform in early 2018. The show will also become available on the Freeform app.

Barris remarked: “grown-ish reflects what we’ll be dealing with in the show—that in-between place where you’re not quite an adult but facing grown world problems for the first time. Where black-ish examines what it means to be black, grown-ish is an examination of what it is and what it means to be grown.”
