NEW YORK: EPIX has appointed Sandy Ashendorf, formerly of BBC Worldwide America, as executive VP of content distribution.

In her new role, Ashendorf will head the network’s distribution partnerships on all platforms. She will be based in New York and report directly to EPIX’s president and CEO, Mark Greenberg. Ashendorf has more than 25 years of experience in the media industry. She joins EPIX from BBC Worldwide America, where she served as executive VP of distribution and was charged with managing all domestic affiliate sales and marketing initiatives for the company’s U.S. assets. She has also worked at Viacom in senior leadership roles.

“I’ve worked in the industry with Sandy for over 20 years and am delighted that she is bringing her powerful combination of experience, relationships and business acumen to EPIX,” said Greenberg. “As we expand our executive team and build our network operating infrastructure, Sandy will add a valuable new dimension and will be a key resource in expanding and strengthening our partnerships and driving new growth.”

“I am thrilled to be a part of EPIX’s next phase of growth,” Ashendorf added. “I look forward to working with our distributors to create new revenue-generating opportunities, provide more value for subscribers and bring our premium lineup of hit movies and compelling original programming to new and broader audiences.”
