Crackle Picks Up ’80s Anime Series Robotech

CULVER CITY: The streaming network Crackle has acquired the complete series of the sci-fi anime franchise Robotech, along with the feature film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.

Starting May 15, Crackle will make available all 85 half-hour episodes of the popular ’80s franchise from Harmony Gold, as well as the 88-minute movie. Both are distributed globally by Content Media.

Originally released in 1985, Robotech is a science-fiction anime epic in which the human race finds itself on the brink of annihilation and under attack by a fleet of alien warships capable of destroying the Earth. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the animated film Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.
