Comedy Central Staffs Up Original Programming, Development Team

NEW YORK: Former MTV executive Brooke Posch is joining Comedy Central as its VP of original programming and development for the East Coast.

Reporting to Kent Alterman, the head of original programming and development, Posch will oversee development and production of all East Coast-based original series and pilots for the cable network. She has been VP of comedy and animation at MTV since 2009, before which she headed up development at Crossroads Television, developing projects for Nickelodeon, IFC, MTV, VH1 and Bravo.

"Brooke has established a fantastic reputation in the comedy community for great taste, impeccable creative instincts, and superior collaborative skills,” said Alterman. “She will undoubtedly make me appear to be smarter than I am. I thank her in advance and look forward to meeting her."
