NEW YORK: Comedy Central has ordered a second season of Key & Peele for fall 2012.

Starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, the second season of the series will consist of 10 episodes. Key & Peele, which features filmed sketches and live stage segments, scored the channel’s best launch since 2009, drawing 2.1 million total viewers to its series premiere. Key, Peele, Ian Roberts, Jay Martel and Joel Zadak executive produce, while Gary Mann and Monika Zielinska are executives in charge of production for Comedy Central.

“Because Key & Peele has been so immediately and universally well received, I was worried if we didn’t give the show a quick pickup, people might accuse me of being racist," said Kent Alterman, the head of original programming and production at Comedy Central.

"We are honored, humbled and most importantly contractually obligated to deliver a second season to Comedy Central," said Key and Peele.
