ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has been appointed to distribute Pernel Media’s series Monumental Revelations in all territories outside of France and the U.K.

The four-part series takes a unique look at the engineering mysteries behind some of the world’s largest and most famous ancient structures. The series reveals the secrets behind the Great Wall of China, Macchu Pichu and more. Each episode explores the history and secrets of the landmarks by observing them from different perspectives of scale—from satellite imagery from space and aerial views, to macro and microscopic levels. From each perspective, Monumental Revelations reveals data that helps shed new light on invisible historical and construction enigmas. ZDFE will be presenting the show at MIPCOM.

Samuel Kissous, the president of Pernel Media, said, “I am delighted to partner up with ZDFE for the first time on this unique series that has been created to capture the imaginations of viewers around the globe. Monumental Revelations takes a completely new approach to an engineering series. By using innovative zoom-in/zoom-out technology, the show gives viewers better answers to questions about population, geology, architecture and construction.”

Ralf Rueckauer, the VP of ZDFE.unscripted, commented, “We are impressed by the quality and professionalism of Samuel Kissous and his team. This is the first time we will distribute one of their productions and we hope to work together much closer in the future. Pernel produces many documentaries that fit perfectly into our catalog at ZDFE.unscripted, which focusses on wildlife, science, history and entertainment.”
