Woodcut Media is producing the new documentary series The Killer in My Family (My Deadly Relation) for broadcast on UKTV’s Really early next year.

The Killer in My Family explores the perspectives of a murderer’s relatives. The 6×45-mintue show will debut on Really in January 2019. It will be distributed internationally by TCB Media Rights.

Matthew Gordon, executive producer for Woodcut Media, stated: “The fallout from any murder is devastating not just for the relatives of the victim, but also for the family members of the perpetrator. In this series we wanted get up close and personal, so that these individuals can also fully express the impact this has had on their lives.”

Daniel Thomas, UKTV’s acquisitions manager, noted: “This is set to be a fascinating series and we’re looking forward to working with Woodcut Media to offer families whose lives have been irrevocably changed due to crimes committed by a relative an opportunity to share their story.”

Paul Heaney, the CEO of TCB Media Rights, added: “Buyers are constantly asking for a new ‘way in’ to telling true-crime stories. The Killer in My Family takes a fresh view point which will offer viewers well-known crimes with a new twist.”
