Travel Channel Strengthens Programming Team

NEW YORK: Travel Channel has named Christine Shuler, who has served as a consultant for the network for the past year, to the post of director of programming.

In her new role, Shuler will report to Neil Regan, the VP of programming at Travel Channel. She will be based in New York. As a consultant for Travel Channel, Shuler worked on series such as Booze Traveler, Food Paradise and the upcoming Alaska: Water and Ice.

Before joining Travel Channel, Shuler served as a production executive, creating historical, popular culture, educational and reality programming for A&E Networks, Discovery Communications, PBS and Chicago Public Radio. She was honored with the George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for her work as producer and writer on the oral history documentary Voices of Civil Rights.
