LONDON: Sundog Pictures has appointed Nicky Huggett, formerly of Popkorn TV, as the company’s head of development.

Huggett previously served as head of development at Popkorn TV, where she contributed to such programs as the Cutting Edge doc Rich Kids of Instagram for Channel 4. Before that, she led the development team at Rare Day, where she helped secure the prime-time Channel 4 show Big Ballet. Earlier in her career, she held positions at CTVC and Windfall Films.

Sam Anthony, the creative director of Sundog Pictures, remarked: “We are really thrilled to be working with a head of development as experienced and well-respected as Nicky Huggett. Her expertise will enable us to push further into the documentary series space in the U.K. and the U.S.”

Huggett added: “The thing that most appealed to me was Sundog’s ethos—to tell stories that matter. For me, that’s the best thing about this industry. I’m passionate about creating documentaries that change people’s lives, even in the tiniest way. Sundog sets out to do that every day, with everything they make. So I am really looking forward to joining the team and building on its incredible success.”
