Smithsonian Channel Slates Nepal Earthquake Doc

Smithsonian Channel is marking the second anniversary of the earthquake in Nepal that caused deadly landslides and avalanches across the country in April 2015 with the premiere of the documentary Nightmare on Everest this month.

Set to debut Monday, April 24, at 9 p.m., Nightmare on Everest will feature exclusive interviews and never-before-broadcast footage from Everest Base Camp and Langtang National Park telling the stories of seasoned climbers making their second attempt at the Everest Summit, the experiences of a couple staying in Kyanjin Gumpa, Langtang, as well as tales from others who were impacted by the disaster.

The documentary is produced by Arrow Media. Karen McGann produced and directed Nightmare on Everest. The executive producer for Arrow Media is Nick Metcalfe, while David Royle and Joy Galane serve as executive producers for Smithsonian Channel. FremantleMedia International distributes the program worldwide.
