Sky Vision has acquired global distribution rights for the new Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen series Laurence of Suburbia from Formatzone.

Sky Vision will handle sales for the format and finished program. Laurence of Suburbia is a new series that combines elements of entertainment, home makeover and roadshow programs for a new flagship format. Produced by Formatzone for Channel 7 in the U.K., the series sees British TV personality Llewelyn-Bowen head to a different neighborhood in each episode and invite members of the local community to show him their decorating disasters. Llewelyn-Bowen will select one lucky neighbor to win a home makeover that will incorporate design and architectural influences from the local area. The transformation is then revealed to the owners and live-streamed to the community for the entire neighborhood to see.

Barnaby Shingleton, the director of entertainment and factual at Sky Vision, said, “The idea of bringing Laurence to towns and villages across the country and asking neighborhoods to contribute their own properties to the format is an incredibly exciting one. It puts a fresh spin on the property makeover, and having Laurence as part of the show makes it a particularly appealing proposition for broadcasters.”

Mark Rowland, the CEO of Formatzone, added, “We are delighted to be working with Sky Vision’s experienced team to bring Laurence of Suburbia to the international market. It’s a great, relatable format led by the U.K.’s most charismatic expert host. We look forward to tackling decorating disasters in neighborhoods all over the world!”
