LONDON: Scripps Networks Interactive has unveiled its new original commission, Robson Green Grand Slam, a tentatively titled new fishing series that is slated for broadcast on Travel Channel in the U.K. and EMEA.

Robson Green Grand Slam looks on as the titular TV presenter, actor and fisherman attempts to achieve the Grand Slam, an International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) term that is used when anglers catch three or more species within 24 hours. Each episode will see Green travel to a different location around the globe, including Costa Rica, Florida, Senegal and Alaska. The 10×60-minute show is being produced by IWC Media. It began filming last month and is due to debut early next year.

Kevin Dickie, the senior VP of channels for Scripps Networks Interactive in the U.K. and EMEA, said: “We are capturing all the action from the IGFA official Grand Slams, and have also set some of our own challenges to increase the intensity of the competition. Three different species of fish, in 24 hours, in ten different locations, is nigh on impossible, but we are thrilled to be able to offer our viewers a fresh, new, nail-biting format. We are confident that viewers will welcome Robson as he joins Paul Hollywood, Paddy McGuinness and the rest of the Scripps Networks family as we continue to invest in big talent and high-quality content.”

Green added: “This is the most intense challenge I have ever faced and I am so grateful to be working with Scripps Networks on this show and for providing me with a platform where, if I succeed, I’ll get my name in the record books. I’m on board and ready to reel.”
