TORONTO: Portfolio Entertainment has snapped up the global distribution rights for the new reality show Small Town, Big Mayor, which is produced by American Chainsaws Entertainment and Captain Al’s Big Big Pictures.

Small Town, Big Mayor looks on as newly elected Mayor John Henry Berry and a team of locals set out to turn a small Mississippi town into a tourist destination and symbol of civic pride. The 10×30-minute series was commissioned by UP TV in the U.S. It is due to debut on the cable channel this summer.

Joy Rosen, CEO and co-founder of Portfolio Entertainment, said: “Small Town, Big Mayor is a perfect antidote for troubling times. Community, diversity and triumph of the human spirit loom large here and Mayor John Henry Berry has all the makings of a reality superstar.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Portfolio on Small Town, Big Mayor,” added Hal Rosenberg, the executive VP of content distribution and marketing at UP. “There’s no shortage of heart and humor in this comedic series, and we look forward to sharing these stories with the world.”
