October Films Taps VICE Alum to Lead Topical Programs

Neil Breakwell, a former VICE Studios executive, has been named head of topical programs at October Films.

In his new position, Breakwell will develop and executive produce new programming, with a specific concentration on live shows, fast-response docs, younger-skewing formats and digital platform integration. He previously served as VP of news and current affairs at VICE Studios. Earlier in his career, he held a number of roles at BBC, including deputy editor of Newsnight.

Adam Bullmore, the managing director of October Films, remarked: “Neil brings a wealth of experience of producing exciting, innovative content for both traditional broadcasters and online platforms. He’s the perfect fit to complement the October team as we continue to expand our output for broadcasters in the U.K. and internationally.”
