NHK, ARTE France, CC&C Co-Pro to Screen at MIPDoc

PARIS: Tokyo Phoenix: The Rise of Modern Japan, a documentary from NHK, ARTE France and CC&C, will have its World Premiere TV Screening at MIPDoc 2017.

The screening is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, at 5:15 p.m. in the JW Marriott Grand Theatre. The documentary was initially produced for the Japanese market by NHK and was adapted for international distribution by French co-producer CC&C, which specializes in historical films and has expertise in colorization techniques, in co-production with ARTE France. International sales are being handled by Terranoa.

Tokyo Phoenix: The Rise of Modern Japan examines the city’s evolution and rebirth into a modern metropolis. In addition to NHK’s archives, the film draws on extensive French, British, German and Russian archive footage of Japan from the first half of the 20th century, as well as rare home movie images.
