New Discovery Special to Spotlight Thai Cave Rescue

Discovery Channel has lined up the hour-long special Operation Thai Cave Rescue, focused on the recent heroic efforts to save a group of boys and their coach from a flooded cave.

Operation Thai Cave Rescue will explore why the 12 soccer players and their 25-year-old coach were in the cave, how they became trapped, how they survived for more than two weeks without food and what it took to get them all out safely. The doc is slated to air on Discovery Channel on Friday, July 13, at 10 p.m. and Science Channel the following night at the same time.

Operation Thai Cave Rescue is made for Discovery Channel by ITN Productions. Jon Bardin and Andrew O’Connell serve as executive producers for Discovery, while Ian Russell is an exec producer for ITN Productions.
