Caravan is producing Avenging Evil, an hour-long documentary commissioned by Channel 4’s specialist factual team commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day.

Avenging Evil, part of the Secret History series, is co-produced with Global Road Entertainment, which is also handling worldwide distribution outside of the U.K. The film tells the story of a secret organization of Holocaust survivors—known as the Avengers—who attempted to kill six million Germans in 1946 as retaliation for the death of six million Jews during World War II.

Rob Coldstream, commissioning editor, commented: “We are proud to have this remarkable film. Both intensely moving and deeply shocking, it packs a real emotional punch—and by flipping the traditional Holocaust narrative on its head asks profound questions about the nature of justice.”

Dinah Lord, the managing director of Caravan Media and co-executive producer, noted: “This is an incredible story that very few people will know, told from the firsthand perspective of the last survivors directly involved and based on extensive research, which has unearthed remarkable new evidence.”

Phil Gurin, the president of Global Road’s unscripted and alternative television division, added: “This is a fascinating, little-known story that we felt needed to be told and is the perfect first project for us as we set out to build a documentary and factual portfolio alongside our upcoming slate of formats and reality content. Working with Dinah Lord’s Caravan in the U.K. demonstrates our approach to international collaboration on subjects that we believe will have a wide global audience.”
