LONDON: Tin Roof Media, which was founded by former DHX Media principal Neil Court, has made an investment in the British factual production company Blink Films.

The undisclosed financial investment will enable Blink to expand its current roster of factual programming, broadening its reach into factual entertainment, formats and returning series as well as increasing its features output. The company will be looking to hire executive producers specializing in these genres.

The senior team at Blink Films—Dan Chambers, Justine Kershaw and Sarah Sapper—will remain the same and will be joined by Court as chairman and Charles Ogilvie as CFO.

Tin Roof Media was founded by Court, who was a co-founder of DHX Media. He is executive Chairman of 9 Story and also co-owner and chairman of Peacock Alley Entertainment.

Court said: “Blink is an ambitious company and we are excited that our investment will enable Dan and Justine to expand Blink’s portfolio and widen its reach. Factual is a vibrant space and British companies are the world leaders in the genre. We are thrilled to be investing in Blink and we’ll be looking for further opportunities in this arena in the U.K.”

Blink Films’ Chambers and Kershaw added: “This investment is a fantastic opportunity for Blink to fulfill its true potential, building on the success of series like The Brain to become a key producer of premium factual content on both sides of the Atlantic whilst broadening into new genres of factual programming. We are thrilled to add Neil and Charles to our board. Their expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to grow.”
