Multicom Takes on Kevin Bacon-Hosted Doc Turn It Up!

LOS ANGELES: Multicom Entertainment Group has acquired the documentary film Turn It Up!, hosted by Kevin Bacon.

Turn It Up! explores the history of the electric guitar and its influence on pop culture, artists, history, politics and the average musician. The feature-length film chronicles the story of the electric guitar from its invention in the 1930s through to its golden years and the digital guitars of the future. Shot in HD, it features rock stars such as Slash, Paul Stanley, B.B. King, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Paul Stanley of KISS, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Steely Dan/Doobie Bros.), Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), John 5 (Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie), Nancy Wilson (Heart), Albert Lee, Steve Lukather (Toto) and more.

The film is a series of guitar stories and introduces viewers to music legends past and present, congressmen, CEOs and teenage virtuosos who help viewers understand their emotional connection to the instrument. It honors the electrified six-string and recognizes the bond between the musician and the guitar by exploring the instrument’s past, present and future. Turn It Up! comes from filmmaker Robert Radler and details why the electric guitar has been a beacon of self-expression for generations.
