MTV International has commissioned Meetinghouse Productions to produce the new series Clickbait, which exposes viewers to music-inspired video content from the internet.

Clickbait will begin premiering on MTV’s international channels on May 1. Narrated by American comedian Akaash Singh, each half-hour episode is shot from the perspective of his mobile device. Singh shows viewers viral videos and clip montages that MTV hand-picked from the internet as he cracks jokes and watches the strangest and funniest music-themed user-generated content on the web.

The 20 episodes are produced for MTV International by Meetinghouse Productions. Executive producers are Jason Cilo of Meetinghouse Productions and Bruce Gillmer, Jennifer Demme-Harris and Adriana Cornejo for MTV International.

Cilo, the president of Meetinghouse Productions, said, “Viral videos have become such a regular part of our daily lives on the internet and our devices that it seemed natural to come up with a format for Clickbait that mimics the way we all experience that content, instead of loading a lot of format on top of the experience of watching funny viral content. MTV International essentially gave us a set of things to accomplish: get more music on their channels, do something unique in terms of the way the show unfolds, and we all worked together to kind of reverse-engineer a format out of the ask. And aggregating clips around music and performance has been really fun, too.”
