Leftfield Taps Scripps Alum to Lead Development

ITV America’s Leftfield Pictures has hired seasoned development exec Andrew Schechter as senior VP of development for the company.

In his new position, Schechter will report to Shawn Witt and Gretchen Palek, co-presidents of Leftfield. He previously worked at Scripps Networks, where he was VP of development for Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel. Before that, Schechter was a producer at Animal Planet. He started his career in children’s television at Discovery Kids.

Witt and Palek stated: “Andrew is an integral piece of the Leftfield Pictures strategy as the label continues to bolster its growing slate. His creativity and proven track record across multiple genres are invaluable assets as we usher in a new chapter of disruptive content.”
