LONDON: DRG has landed its first round of deals for Race for the White House, a docuseries narrated by Kevin Spacey, including a sale to Netflix.

The 6×1-hour CNN original series was also sold to Foxtel (Australia), Odisea/Odisseia (AMC Networks International Iberia), NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), kabel eins Doku (Germany), Channel 8 (Israel) and Gibraltar Broadcasting Company. The series uses rare archival footage, interviews and stylized dramatizations, with each episode telling the story of one iconic campaign for president of the United States.

Noel Hedges, the executive VP of content and acquisitions at DRG, commented: “With its fast pace, natural drama, iconic political figures and fantastic narration from Kevin Spacey—who brings a touch of Frank Underwood in relaying the twists and turns of each campaign—it’s no surprise that Race for the White House reached 2.56 million viewers and became the highest-rated CNN original series when first broadcast in America.

Race for the White House is a riveting watch and proves that drama, political conniving, back-stabbing and personal attacks are far from new in presidential campaigns. As we gear up for what promises to be a fascinating 2016 U.S. election I am delighted that so many broadcasters are already adding this informative and entertaining series to their schedules.”
