LONDON: Zodiak Rights, the international distribution arm of Banijay Group, has secured worldwide sales for the five-part documentary SAS: Who Dares Wins while gearing up for MIPTV.

SAS: Who Dares Wins has been acquired by SBS (Australia) and TVNZ (New Zealand). BBC Worldwide Global Channels also picked up the title in a pan-regional deal for Africa and Central and South America. In Europe, acquisitions include Polsat (Poland), RTL Nitro (German-speaking Europe), TV2 (Norway), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland) and Discovery Benelux.

SAS: Who Dares Wins is produced by Minnow Films for the U.K.’s Channel 4, which recently recommssioned the program for a second season. It illustrates the demanding entrance process for the SAS. On the show, elite ex-Special Forces soldiers put 30 physically fit civilians through a series of physical and psychological tests taken from the real entrance process.

Tim Mutimer, the CEO of Zodiak Rights, said: “We’re very pleased to see such a wide roster of deals concluded for Minnow Films’s SAS: Who Dares Wins. This character-driven series offers a fascinating and often surprising insight into one of the world’s toughest selection processes—as the recruits battle to make it to the end. The success of SAS: Who Dares Wins is a fantastic indication of the continued popularity of high-quality, compelling factual content in the international market, and we’re looking forward to showcasing a diverse, globally appealing slate of new programming at MIPTV.”

At MIPTV, the company is offering a lineup of factual content that includes the special Arnie’s Greatest Ever Stunts, produced by Zig Zag Productions for Channel 4. There is also Billy Connolly Tracks Across America from 7Wonder for ITV.

The two-part series Choose the Right Puppy for You, from RDF Television for BBC Two, meanwhile, uses stunts, tests and more to pair people with the perfect puppy for them. Zodiak Rights’s slate also features Paris Attacked: One Year of Terror, How to Die: Simon’s Choice, Saving Lives at Sea and a fourth season of Can’t Pay We’ll Take It Away.
