Global Sales for Cold War Docuseries

NEW YORK/PRAGUE: Big Media and KM Plus Media have racked up international sales for the Cold War documentary series M.A.D. World, placing the title into Germany and Australia, among other territories.

The 8×52-minute docuseries has been sold to Germany’s ZDF, France’s AB Group, Polsat in Poland and History Channel in Australia. M.A.D. World has also been picked up by a broadcaster in the U.S. that will be announced at a later date.

M.A.D. World examines the Cold War between the U.S. and the Soviet Union from the end of World War II to the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is co-produced with Australia’s Wild Bear Entertainment and features never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with spies, military leaders and policy makers from both sides of the conflict.

Nikolas Huelbusch, the director of ZDFE.factual, said of the acquisition: “ZDF and ZDF Enterprises have a vast experience in the field of contemporary history programs. Thus, this series is a perfect fit to the program slots of our partners ZDF-History and zdf.info and a great addition to the ZDF Enterprises catalogue.”
