MAINZ: Carim Aadam has been appointed as co-managing director of doc.station and is due to become the sole managing director of the Hamburg production company upon the retirement of Hartmut Klenke in January 2017.

Aadam stepped into the role this week, adding to his functions as CEO at ZDF Digital Medienproduktion. Aadam has been the managing director of ZDF Digital since August 2014.

“During this period, Aadam has undertaken numerous program and production realignments, and has adjusted the company to digitization on a lasting basis,” said Stephan Adrian, the executive VP and CFO at ZDF Enterprises, and the chairman of doc.station’s supervisory board. “We believe that he is just the right person to continue to maintain and recharge the doc.station brand.”

“In Hamburg, Hartmut Klenke has built an excellent company for nonfiction program formats,” added Adrian. “The spectrum of programming, from talk shows, through history and science documentaries and dramatized documentaries, and up to reports and nature films, is unparalleled. Its clients are numerous public and private broadcasters, and its awards range from the Grimme Prize, through to the German Television Award, up to the Silver Medal of the New York Film Festival for Stalin’s Daughter a few weeks ago. We thank Hartmut Klenke for his impressive achievements and we are pleased that he is supporting us in the succession management.”

Aadam remarked: “I look forward to the new task of shaping the future of a renowned production company like doc.station with a superb team.”
