Discovery Plans Special Broadcast of Docuseries Featuring John Glenn

LOS ANGELES: Discovery Channel is paying tribute to space pioneer John Glenn, who died earlier this month, by airing a special encore presentation of When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions.

When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions spotlights the missions, the people and the triumphs of space exploration. The HD documentary series features interviews from Mercury and space shuttle astronauts, including first-person accounts from Glenn. It is slated to air on Sunday, December 11, at 9 a.m.

Glenn was an astronaut, aviator, engineer and U.S. senator from Ohio. In the 1960s he became the first American to orbit Earth. He passed away at the age of 95 on Thursday, December 8, 2016.
