Woodcut Media has appointed Adam Jacobs, a former producer for Discovery Networks, as executive producer, effective immediately.

Jacobs will work on Woodcut’s development slate and commissioned projects currently in production alongside CEO Kate Beal and Derren Lawford, creative director. He will also contribute to the development of the company’s male-skewing factual slate in the coming months. He will be based in London.

Previously, Jacobs served as exec producer for factual production and development at Discovery Networks International. Earlier in his career, he was director of factual programming for the U.K. and Western Europe at Discovery Communications. He first joined the company in 2006 as programming coordinator.

Beal commented: “We have known Adam for a good few years since our first collaboration on Woodcut’s The Krays: The Prison Years, which he executive produced. He is a highly rated industry executive with a stellar track record, and we are confident that his contribution to our company’s continued expansion will speak for itself.”

Jacobs added: “I am thrilled to be joining the ambitious team at Woodcut Media. Having collaborated with Kate in the past and built a strong relationship, I am now looking forward to working with her in developing an exciting new slate of ideas for the company.”
